Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
Eta Sigma's Philanthropy
Eta Sigma is proud to continue its longstanding tradition of supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, with a focus on our local CMN hospital, Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, CA. This year, our annual philanthropy event, Miracle Week, took place from September 30 to October 5, 2024, featuring a full week of fundraising activities dedicated to raising vital funds for the hospital. We successfully raised approximately $2,500 to donate to Valley Children’s, helping to enhance pediatric care and alleviate financial burdens for families in need.Additionally, Eta Sigma actively participates in the annual Kids Day each Spring, further strengthening our connection to Valley Children’s Hospital. Through these initiatives and past accomplishments, our chapter has made a significant impact, and we remain dedicated to building on these milestones to support CMNH and raise awareness about the importance of philanthropy on campus."Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller
